We train professionals in Biotechnology Engineering with a high level, committed to society and the environment, capable of researching, designing, and innovating productive biological processes that directly impact health, food, energy, industry, agriculture, and environmental care. Promotes the application of knowledge in a specific professional field and trains students for responsible performance.

Curricular spaces that promote interdisciplinarity and whose intention is for students to evaluate, integrate and apply the acquisition of generic and professional competencies.

Curricular space that aims to strengthen social commitment and responsibility through direct contact with the country's reality and professional attention to vulnerable groups and/or communities in need.

The graduate has the responsibility to promote the application of Biotechnology Engineering knowledge to:
- Solve complex design, optimization, and simulation problems of bioprocesses, applying the principles of basic sciences for environmental care, economic growth, and the increase in society's quality of life.
- Value the synthesis of innovative biochemical processes that result in projects that satisfy needs for the benefit of society and the environment.
- Promote the generation of intellectual property based on biotechnology engineering processes capable of addressing industrial, social, and environmental development problems.
- Collaborate in the design of models and bioprocesses based on the application of Biotechnology Engineering and sustainability to promote the competitiveness of existing companies and promote the generation of new biotechnological companies, integrating the economic-financial part.
- Participate in the design of business models to undertake, plan, organize, and direct companies with the conceptual focus of biotechnology engineering.
- Promote leadership skills, interpersonal relationships, and effective communication in the development of inter and multidisciplinary projects.

The curriculum includes a solid scientific-technological education and responds to the growing concern for the interactions between economic, social, and environmental development. This approach drives professionals capable of researching, developing, innovating, and managing sustainable bioprocesses in the industry, applying artificial intelligence, design thinking, and strengthening soft skills, all under a vision of sustainability and responsible innovation.

The graduate will be able to develop professionally in public or private companies in the industrial, commercial, financial, and service sectors, in activities such as: Planning, operation, and management of companies. Design, construction, installation, and operation of industrial equipment and plants. Strategic business planning. Research, design, and innovation of productive bioprocesses. Strategic and implementation consulting. Educational institutions and centers, carrying out research and teaching activities. Creation and direction of their own businesses. Public or private laboratories.

The Universidad Iberoamericana is oriented towards comprehensive humanistic training sensitive to the reality of the country. In addition to technical and economic aspects, ethical aspects related to professional practice are considered, which involve: commitment to health, food, the environment, social justice, and industrial development. Additionally, the Biotechnology Engineering program is enriched by the exchange of ideas through interaction with students from other disciplines in the university reflection and departmental service subjects (mathematics, physics, economics, and administration); specifying the incorporation of current topics such as artificial intelligence, data science, bioinformatics, sustainable development, alternative bioenergies, bioprocess innovation, biomaterials development, bioreactor design, and applied molecular biology, among others. Our practical approach allows working in state-of-the-art laboratories: applied microbiology, bioprocess engineering, molecular biology, and bioprocess pilot plant. Furthermore, you will obtain micro-accreditations and participate in real projects linked to industry and the community, with an international perspective.

To contribute to the \"achievement of a freer, more productive, just, and supportive society,\" the Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology Engineering aims to train professionals who assume the commitment to serve others through the development of the biotechnology industry and the application and generation of bioprocess and bioproduct technologies demanded by national and global markets.

Biotechnology Engineering students will be able to participate in academic exchanges at any of the more than 250 institutions with which we have an agreement for the same cost.
